John McCain and The War

Out of the three biggest names trying to run for Presidency Mr. John McCain's seems to be the one which is thought of as the most radical. He is the only one out of the "big three" who says that he will continue to keep the United States in Iraq until "Iraq becomes capable of governing itself and keeping the safeguard of its people". I do respect him because it has been recorded for five years straight that he has wanted more money for the war, more troops in Iraq, and has no plans of backing down. He is a man who sticks by his guns but a very risky gun because only 29% of the American population want the war to continue.

Mr. McCain has a perspective that is showing that he does not want the United States to lose this war. He does not beleive that we should back down and is ready to fight until they surrender completely. McCain also says the "the key condition for successful elections is for American troops to continue to work with brave Iraqis to allow the voting to take place in relative freedom and security. Iraqis need to know that the U.S. will not abandon them, but will continue to press their politicians to show the necessary leadership to help develop their country." Hillary Clinton and The War

There has been much speculation on the part of Mrs. Hillary Clinton and the chances of her presidency. The reason why there has been so much speculation is because of the fact that it seems like she will do whatever it takes to get votes or get people to support her. Five years ago Mrs. Hillary Clinton was asked should the United States of America enter a war with Iraq. Five Years ago many felt resentment and the majority vote was to go to war. She got her wish but unlike Mr. John McCain who supported the war then and supports it today or like Mr. Barack Obama who opposed the war back then and opposes it today she sort of seems to have "flip-flopped". Some may see this as a sign of maturity and a person who is able to admit that she was wrong. I may agree with this point but it seems that whenever she is asked about it she never acknowledges the fact that she is one of the reasons that our country is in the situation that it is in right now.

Mrs Clinton has a similar plan to Mr. Barack's. Her plan for the war is to end it as soon as possible, well so she says. On her website she states that she has been urging the President to end the war for a whille now and that she instead of trying to build bases will try to reconstruct the country. Something that could be considered noble or could be considered as another act of a President trying to fix things that should be simply left alone.

Once again this is going to be a very interesting race to presidency. Would you vote for Mrs. Clinton? Why or Why not.

Barack Obama and The War

It makes me feel good if a person who opposed the war from the get go was put into power. The reason why i would feel more comfortable is because Mr. Barack Obama opposed the war from the "get go". As it says on his personal website http://www.barackobama.com/issues/iraq/ he was part of one of the few in Washington who felt that going into war would be a very rash descision. He personally felt that the fighting should have ended in Afghanistan and that it was not fair to infiltrate Iraq without irrefutable proof that they were a threat to our country. That definetley sounds like my kind of president, a person who sticks to their guns no matter what.

Another thing about Mr. Obama is that he is a man who seems to keep cool under questions about Iraq. I have seen a few of his debates or interviews about the war and it seems that he never changes his answers. Although i do not completely agree with him he feels that to keep America safe he is ready to withdraw "one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months." http://www.barackobama.com/issues/iraq/#bring-home

I also cannot lie that i do not agree with the idea of not building any permanent bases because it would simply not be right.

The Media

The media has played a major part in this war. It is unfortunate that half of them will report the heroism of the American army but will not actually show what is going on. If the American people could see what could was actually going on it would frighten them which is exactly why it is in a way censored. If a person in the U.S.A were to see a picture like the following,
they would freeze at the sight of it with fear, while someone in Iraq may be thinking that was my child or another little girl could be thinking the was my best friend. I blieve that if the media were to take a different approach to their story's people would see what actually happened and they will be able to make there own assessment of the situation and not be guided by the viewpoints of a person who wants to keep their job. It is a tragedy how a little girl like the one above could have that done to her when she did not even know what was going on. Its like i said in my previous post, when it comes to situations like this the end does not justify the means. A little girl should not have this and to myself it would matter if she was in the way of all the oil in the world. The war has lost morale and is forgetting that those are other human beings.

Ways We Could Have Prevented It.

The war in Iraq has caused catastrophe for many family's and friends. War should be the last resort to any problem especially a war that could have been prevented so easily. The quote "The end justify's the means" is a phrase that is basically saying that you should see if what you get is worth what you get up. The war in Iraq (the war for oil) definetly does not justify the means. Countless live have been lost and not only by American soldiers, the lives of the Iraqi soldiers are worth just as much. We must not look at the war as something we must continue or else we will not have oil. We should look at it as if we continue, we the people might as well be out there in Iraq pulling triggers. The war cannot and will not continue without the support of the American people so we should vote and raise our voices to stop it.

Whenever I think of the war i think of something that should have never happened. First of all why are we even in Iraq the last time i checked the U.S is 12338 kilometers away from Iraq. Instead of spending billions of dollars a month trying to bully a country as small as Iraq why didn't we invest that money into finding alternatives to oil. If you look at the big picture we would have never lost lives and last time i checked oil is a non-renewable source so i guess that means it wont be here for ever?
