The Other Side of The Story

There is no way that the United States Government would get away with the devastation that the war has caused if they did not have an excuse to justify their actions. So in this blog i will try to understand and explain why the war is still going on and why it is necessary to still be fighting.

On January 30, 2003 Michael T Claire from the Pacific News service stated that there were three main reasons for President Bush to go to war. All of these reasons are important in there own ways and they are a huge concern. The reasons that he stated were Eliminating Weapons of Mass Destruction, Combating Terrorism, and The Promotion of Democracy in Iraq and in nearby country's.( http://www.alternet.org/story/15069/) .

If the story was as the President said they were then hey, he would have every right in the world to be in Iraq right now but 1825 days, 43800 hours, 2628000 minutes, 157680000 seconds later there are still not even a hint of Iraq having Weapons of Mass Destruction. Im beginning to guess that there weren't any Weapons of Mass Destruction in the first place, but hey thats just a guess and just because its been proven it doesnt matter to the man who on Wednsday will stick to whatever he said on Monday no matter what happens on Tuesday.
Secondly, terrorism is a definite threat and by far no laughing matter but as we saw in the film in class The Polotics of Fear. There is no Alkaida or any type of secret network planning terrorism. Five years later we have basically taken over the country of Iraq and still not even a glimpse of a secret network of terrorist.

Finally and last but certainly not least who are we to go into Iraq and set up a democracy. Its jusst like Michael T. Claire said, "North Korea and Pakistan both pose a greater threat of Weapons of Mass Destruction and are far worse than Iraq" but we still arent in those country's or even in China trying to set up a democracy.

My personal opinion is that President Bush should stop using these excuses because they are beginning to rot or just admit that he is there for the Oil and just state the obvious because even the most naive person should see that the other side of the story is just a lie that does not make sense.

If you agree or disagree with any of my ideas just leave a comment and i'll try to see your point of view.

5 Years too long it's time to bring them back.

Image obatained from:(http://www.tigereyedesign.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000003/BT26336.jpg)
It began on March 19, 2003 the first bombs were dropped in Iraq and the devastation was just beginning, but who knew that five years later we would have made almost no progression. American Soldiers die everyday devoted fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and friends, but for what? So many lives lost its time to bring them back no matter what. Many people are taking a stand for the Soldiers in Iraq but its up to us to change our destiny and do whats right.

Now more than ever is it up to the American public to decide who the want to serve as Commander in Cheif. This November this war can take a turn for the better or a horrible turn for the worst. It is all up to us to decide. The war has lasted already more than five years and for the soldiers out there right now i salute them because it probably seems like they have been out there forever. We the American public owe it to the family's who have felt so much heartache not only here but also the civilians in Iraq who have felt it also.

I would never tell anyone who to vote for because I beleive that this is a personal descision that should not be taking lightly. It has reached the point where we are not even helping Iraq all we are doing is damaging any future that the country may have at all. In this world education is the key to everything and we are surely not helping this because before the war nearly 100% of students went to school but today only about 30% of students attend school.

Five years is way too long it is definetly time to bring our soldiers back.

A Cause Worth Fighting for? Or beggining of an Empire?

Countless lives lost, a hunt for weapons of mass destruction, a president who cant come up with any true justification for his actions. This sounds like the plot for the next episode of the show 24. Unfortunatley it isnt, its whats happening today in Iraq. Image obtained from(http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/d/d1/350px-10kMiles.JPG)

Truth be told its is kind of hard to imagine the United States of America barging into China and try to set up a democracy, but President Bush gladly entered Iraq to "set up a democracy". This sounds very familiar and history has a funny way of repeating itself.

Imperialism is basically a weapon that has destroyed countries and built empires. The exact definition of imperialism is understood in relation to Empire building, as the forceful extension of a nation's authority by territorial conquest establishing economic and political domination of other nations.(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperialism#cite_note-1) Wow it is frightening how what the United States is doing in Iraq fits into the definition like if it was a jigsaw puzzle. What is so ironic is that when the previous empires were built they were after land. During the time of the Roman empire land was power which is one of the main reasons they searched for it, but in present day Oil is power which is why the United States is after Iraq in the first place.
Could this be the start of a new empire? You decide.

Somebody's got to be making alot of $$$$$!

Now everyone knows that this war would be 100% useless if someone was not making a profit off of it. It might not even have any supporters if someones pockets weren't inflating like a cheap balloon. Well I would certainley love to know who's new 2008 Maserati my tax dollars are helping pay for. Wouldnt you like to know who's childrens college fund your taxes paying for?
The United States of America is in my eyes is the most beautiful and magnificent country in the worl but our lack of interest in what is going on right in front of our eyes is bewildering. Our country has now become a country in which is seeking for the richer to get richer and the poorer to get poorer. We can stop this cycle of stupidity by simply turning on the news where there is cold hard proof of what they are talking about. Not where you will be told half of the story. Instead of trying to do what is morally correct by bringing our troops home we are simply getting ready to fight more. This is shown by the numbers in which Mr. Michael Brush showed us in his article written on 8/27/2007. Mr. Brush states that "The White House has proposed military spending of $647 billion in 2008". wonder where all of that money is going to come from?
If you want to know how exactly the government is making all of this money look at it as if it were a simple case of cause and effect. The Military Industrial Complex is used for whenever the country needs to go to war. The Government uses our tax money to fund the (MIC) so that there will be enough money to blow up the "huge" terror that is Iraq. Guess what, the United States basically destroys Iraq and all of a sudden wants to go help and set up a democracy but hey guess who's paying for that too. Us! we are the people who allow for this to happen we let Bush start a war and its like giving a thief your wallet so he wont steal it, you lose anyway. We let "chicken-hawks" like Rumsfield and VP Dick Cheney take us to war so that they can make money and it will only continue to happen unless we begin to pay attention to what is really important.

Who will figure out the puzzle

The American public is tired of this war, 80% of Iraq is tired of this war and I am 100% tired of this war. It is time to stop looking at this war from a past angle. It happened and continues to happen so we need to begin to look a few months into the future and see which one of our candidates will guide us out of the war.

The elections will be held on November 2nd, 2008 and it will be interesting to see who will figure out the puzzle. All of the Candidates have a different opinions on many topis such as cleaner streets, safer streets, national debt, and the one that mostly pertains to this blog "The War In Iraq".

Both democratic candidates have an idea to reduce the amount of soldiers in Iraq but neither wants to bring them all home. Meanwhile McCain is all the way in left field with the idea of sending more troops to Iraq until we get what we want, but hey i guess we as a country want everything. It is kind of like a bank robber running back into a bank to get a penny after he just walked out with a millon dollars.

It promises to be a very interesting November because no matter what happens the war will continue, but will the situation get better or get even worse.

Hunt for Al-Qaeda or Scavenger Hunt for Oil

The United States war on Terror has been depicted as if America has a sort of obligation to infiltrate and thrust democracy onto other country's. There is no doubt in my mind that there was no justification towards the attack on the World Trade Center but this spontaneus jump towards a war with Iraq could not have been something that happened at the "spur of the moment". It had to be something that would justify the infiltration of Iraq.

Since the 1980's the necons have been trying to get their fingers on Iraq's soil. They knew about the oil and that if they had any reason at all to enter Iraqs premises that they would not hesitate for a second. So the question remains is this "War on Terror" or actually a war for OIL. Many may say that it is the United States responsiblity to spread democracy around the world, but how convenient it was to choose Iraq out of all places to start? When did America agree to be Earths superhero? I think it was when the prices of OIL came into picture.

Maybe we are giving the United States the wrong label. We call her a Super Hero but could it be that she is actually a bully? So the question arises once again is this a hunt for Al- Qaeda or a scavenger hunt for oil? You decide and respond with your comments.
