Hunt for Al-Qaeda or Scavenger Hunt for Oil

The United States war on Terror has been depicted as if America has a sort of obligation to infiltrate and thrust democracy onto other country's. There is no doubt in my mind that there was no justification towards the attack on the World Trade Center but this spontaneus jump towards a war with Iraq could not have been something that happened at the "spur of the moment". It had to be something that would justify the infiltration of Iraq.

Since the 1980's the necons have been trying to get their fingers on Iraq's soil. They knew about the oil and that if they had any reason at all to enter Iraqs premises that they would not hesitate for a second. So the question remains is this "War on Terror" or actually a war for OIL. Many may say that it is the United States responsiblity to spread democracy around the world, but how convenient it was to choose Iraq out of all places to start? When did America agree to be Earths superhero? I think it was when the prices of OIL came into picture.

Maybe we are giving the United States the wrong label. We call her a Super Hero but could it be that she is actually a bully? So the question arises once again is this a hunt for Al- Qaeda or a scavenger hunt for oil? You decide and respond with your comments.
